**Assembly Technician Lead Hand**
Weldco-Beales Manufacturing Ltd. (WBM) manufactures heavy equipment attachments and truck mounted cranes for the construction, forestry, mining and resource industries throughout Canada, U.S.A. and internationally. Our manufacturing facility located in Edmonton, Alberta is currently recruiting a mechanically-inclined individual to work in our Painting and Assembly area during our day shift. Reporting to the General Foreman, the Assembly Lead Hand is a skilled tradesperson or equivalent with proven hands on experience in hydraulics, welding and assembling products.
**Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks**
Working under the direction and supervision of the Foreman, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Complies with and promotes all safety rules and practices as set by Occupational Health and Safety, WBM and any and all other relevant safety regulations and requirements
- Follows verbal instructions or reads specifications to thoroughly understand the project before commencing any work order
- Assembles products including mechanical and hydraulic components to drawing and schematic specifications
- Prepares the surface by cleaning and sanding rough spots to smooth the area for painting
- Performs fitting and welding duties including minor weld repairs as required
- Offer strong leadership and customer service through effective communication, promotion of high productivity and quality
- Performs other duties as required
**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma
- A minimum of 3+ years of steel manufacturing experience
- Previous experience in hydraulic assembly
- Communication skills to read, write, listen, and speak in a clear and concise manner to individuals at various levels
- Interpersonal skills work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
- Learns quickly and is willing to ask questions
- Attentive to details
- Follows instructions thoroughly and uses good judgment
- Supervisory training/experience would be an asset
- Demonstrates strong work ethics (attendance, punctuality, reliability, honesty, etc.)
- Physically fit to lift items weighing up to 20 kg.
- Ability to work overtime as required or needed
