Coffee Shop Manager - East Vancouver

Are you a seasoned, passionate, and creative leader in the world of coffee shops? We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time General Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in our café's success.

As the Café Manager, your responsibilities go beyond simply maintaining the daily operations; you'll be instrumental in driving our cafe's growth and development. This position offers the potential for you to become a valuable partner as we expand our presence in the community.

Job Responsibilities:

- Oversee the opening and closing procedures of the coffee shop.
- Skillfully prepare various types of coffee, espresso, tea, and other beverages according to the cafe's recipes and quality standards.
- Efficiently organize, lead, and assess daily restaurant operations.
- Implement and uphold service standards and operational protocols.
- Recruit and train staff.
- Develop and execute sales and profit strategies in line with budgetary objectives.
- Maintain optimal team member scheduling, ensuring target labor costs are met.
- Create and manage work schedules, accurately reflecting hours for payroll purposes.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance.
- Supervise and lead a team
- Continuously monitor revenue and make adjustments to procedures and prices as needed.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Effectively resolve customer complaints.
- Negotiate discounts and production agreements with food, coffee, and other suppliers, both for front-of-house and back-of-house products.
- Maintain control over inventory through weekly stock counts, inventory level management, and updating cost information in the inventory database.
- Manage costing for both coffee and food items.
- Accurately package and fulfill orders to meet specified requirements.
- Assist the CEO in tasks related to invoicing, inventory management, and disbursements.
- Support the CEO in generating financial and analytical reports.
- Work alongside branding team to develop special drinks, promotions, marketing tactics

Skills Requirements

**Education**:

- Completion of post-secondary or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management

Skills and Attributes:

**Experience**:

- At least 5 years of experience managing restaurants/coffee shops and supervising operations and staff
- At least 3 years of barista experience
- Experience handling Square and/or Moneris point of sale systems and being able to produce cash out reports and analytical reports

Languages:
English

Terms of Employment:
Permanent Full-time 40 hours per week, Working Weekends is expected (at least one day) Some evening private events are a possibility.

Valid driver’s license

**Salary**:
$45,000 - $50,000 year + gratuities
