**Position Overview**: You will be assisting the Food and Beverage Director by providing the highest level of food service possible in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner to ensure a positive guest dining experience. Oversee a team of servers and bar tenders in the Lounge and Restaurant.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Leadership and Development
- Lead and mentor the restaurant and lounge team, encouraging consistent improvement, attention to detail and continuous improvement.
- Develops team members through appropriate training, coaching, and mentoring to ensure strong operational performance.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Vantage’s culture and values.
- Assist the Director Food and Beverage as needed with related duties.
- Motivates team members and promotes empowerment.

Financial Management
- Assist in preparing the budget for the restaurant and lounge.
- Monitor and manage all expenses and inventory.
- Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
- Be prepared to learn about reports on revenues and expenses

Guest Service
- Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
- Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
- Establishes quality standards for guest service practices.
- Help train new and current employees on proper customer service practices.

Operations and Team Building
- Trains and manages serving personnel in both restaurant and lounge
- Ensures staff are trained and certified in safe serving and handling of food and liquor.
- Schedules servers in conjunction with business forecasts and predetermined budget.
- Understand and ensure compliance of all Food Safety Act, Health, and Safety regulations for British Columbia
- Assist servers and bartenders as required
- Help ensure supplies and setup is prepared for opening shifts
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Minimum one year in hotel management or supervisory role
- Excellent knowledge of food and beverage sector
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
- Experience in liquor costing, purchasing and controls
- Experience and accuracy in monitoring and reporting inventory items
- Leadership, training and team building skills
- Food Safe and Serving it Right certification

**Working Conditions**:

- May involve irregular shifts.
- Fast pace, high stress environment.
- Standing and moving between work areas
- Able to lift and carry heavy objects up to 23kg (50 lb.)
- Handling food, objects, products, and utensils
- Bending, stooping, kneeling
