- Reporting to the Foreperson - Asbestos Abatement, the Assistant Foreperson provides supervisory assistance through the direct supervision of work performed under the asbestos abatement program set by the Commission in accordance with Ontario Government regulations. The work also involves providing assistance to the Foreperson with setting and maintaining schedules, familiarizing employees in their work and safety procedures, monitoring the work performed for conformance to standards and ensuring the safety of Commission employees and the public.As a TTC employee you are responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (if applicable and within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service provider and an employer and you will also be participating in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.**What Skills Do You Bring?**:

- Demonstrate specialized expertise and knowledge in the assigned field
- Communicate in a variety of mediums

**What Qualifications Do You Bring?**:

- Completion of a technical program in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Sound knowledge of O. Reg. 278/05 (Asbestos on Construction Projects) as well as the methods, practices, procedures, and equipment involved in the removal and handling of mould and lead.
- Ability to read, interpret and work from government regulations regarding the removal and handling of asbestos/mould and asbestos/mould contaminated materials.
- Sound judgement, good organizational, problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to direct, motivate and coordinate the efforts of a unionized workforce
- You must successfully pass Subway/S.R.T. Rule Book and acquire Traction Power Cut Certification and gain thorough knowledge of the ATU Local 113 Collective Agreement/Seniority Regulations, as well as the policies and procedures, government rules and regulations applicable to the work performed (e.g. OHSA, Ontario Building Code, WHMIS etc.)
- You must possess a valid, non-probationary Province of Ontario Class G driving license and may be required to use own automobile when inspecting job sites
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
