Construction Estimator

Ottawa, Canada Brawn Construction Ltd. Full time

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Attend job showings and pre-bid meetings to obtain critical project information
- Analyze bid packages to accurately determine the overall project scope as well as trade scopes
- Review project documents including plans, specifications and addenda to clarify scope requirements
- Create detailed estimates and budgets for tender submission and completion
- Create and distribute Invitation to Tender Packages and update packages on an as needed basis
- Determine General Project Costs for projects including overhead, project management, supervision, protection, rentals, cleaning and safety
- Identify project specific risks and completion impacts such as weather, location, site constraints and long-lead equipment
- Assist in preparing schedules and submittal documents for two-stage procurement opportunities and Requests for Proposals
- Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, designers, subcontractors and suppliers
- Work in consultation with management and project managers to continually improve our estimating and bid response procedures to contribute to overall project success

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications**:

- A University Degree or College Diploma in architecture, engineering or construction management or a combination of education and industry experience
- 1-3 years experience in commercial construction estimation, project management or project coordination
- General construction knowledge including knowledge of commercial construction documents, contracts, common practices and industry standards
- Strong proficiency to use industry standard software including BlueBeam, Procore, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

**Working Conditions**:
75% Office, 25% Away from Office (site visits and subcontractor reviews)

Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM
