Responsible for a variety of duties related to the delivery of community arts programs, exhibits and events at Arts Services Galleries and Facilities in the Assembly Hall.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Develops, implements and evaluates gallery programs, exhibits and special events.
- Coordinates theatre and gallery operations, including theatre equipment and art installations, books clients and handles exhibit contracts.
- Leads programs for education and community groups.
- Provides customer service, technical theatre information and assistance to clients, arts organizations, artists, educators and the general public.
- Conducts special research projects, as required, related to arts programs, grants and corporate sponsorships.
- Assists with the development and monitoring of the annual operating budget.
- Conducts group and individual tours.
- In conjunction with the Senior Arts Consultant and Community Cultural Coordinator, develops outreach initiatives and community partnerships.
- Organizes focus groups, consultation sessions, workshops, seminars, etc. for community arts leaders, professionals and volunteers.
- Designs promotional material for both print and electronic distribution.
- Co-ordinates and prepares content for public information releases and assists with promotional strategies related to arts and cultural activities.
- Creates and maintains social media promotions and website information.
- Develops and maintains statistical reports, contact lists and other records.
- Operates computers utilizing and manipulating a variety of software packages, including Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, Microsoft Office and CLASS Facilities Booking, Program Registration and Program Maintenance.
- Collects, deposits and reconciles payments for gallery and other rental bookings in accordance with the Division's financial procedures. Prepares petty cash deposits and summaries.
- Trains part-time staff, interns and placement students.
- Assists with training, supervising and evaluation of volunteers related to program and special event needs.
- Participates, as required, in day-to-day operational activities of Arts Services initiatives including participation in security for programs at the Assembly Hall.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education, degree, diploma or certificate in a related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education in arts administration, performing or visual arts or community arts engagement.
- Considerable administrative and practical experience in a theatre and art gallery in a community facility setting.
- Considerable experience with technical requirements in theatre operations, including audio, lighting and staging.
- Considerable experience handling and mounting visual artwork.
- Considerable experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Adobe programs (Photoshop, Creative Suite).

**You must also have**:

- Strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask with a minimum of direction.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at all organizations levels and with diverse cultural groups, volunteers, artists and the public.
- Strong customer service, public relations and conflict management skills
- Ability to develop and sustain partnerships and to lead project teams, internal and external.
- Ability to manage and coordinate volunteers.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to theatre and gallery operations, including moderate load carrying (equipment and supplies), and assisting patrons during a fire alarm (descending stairs).
- Must possess or be willing to obtain Valid First Aid certification.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain Smart Serve certification and familiarity with the Municipal Alcohol Policy.
- Ability to regularly work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
