We are looking to enhance our team by welcoming a Regulatory Compliance Specialist.

Together with our Product Development, Marketing, Quality Assurance and Operations teams, you will effectively influence product and packaging design and labelling decisions to ensure that packaging and labels meet market-specific regulatory requirements, both domestic and international. You will provide clear and timely regulatory input for innovation projects as well as existing product changes, ensuring that local and international requirements are fully met. The role will be tasked with combining knowledge of scientific, legal, and business issues to ensure products manufactured and distributed meet appropriate legislation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of product commercialization through end-to-end execution.

**Job Duties**:
**The Role**:

- Review and approve final artwork against Canadian and destination country standards and requirements.
- Generate technical packaging information for new and existing products in compliance with Canadian, U.S., and other international regulations, including ingredient declarations, allergen statements, nutrition facts, product, and nutrient content claims.
- Successfully manage packaging and artwork transition to operational execution, ensuring compliant product is on shelf according to target timelines.
- Collaborate with vendor partners and internal colleagues to execute the above smoothly and in a timely manner.
- With certification bodies such as Kosher, Vegan, Non-GMO etc, ensure that all information requirements are successfully submitted and managed and maintained as compliant.
- Ensure product database is consistently maintained and current with final artwork, letter of attestation, claims, list of Ingredients, allergens and NFT.
- Review, and with appropriate TONFI personnel, approve new packaging, packaging updates and requested packaging changes for compliance to TONFI equipment and processes to ensure seamless and timely operational transition and operational excellence.
- Respond to regulatory questions related to formulations and general labelling information.
- Function as packaging expert support in all QA/traceability activity and actions.
- Complete specification sheets as requested by Private Label customers.
- Track initiative progress and timelines, with regular reporting to the business.
- Ensure timely identification and mitigation of gaps related to the execution new initiatives.
- Provide regulatory support for all customer, GFSI and independent standard audits.
- Maintain current knowledge of labelling regulatory requirements pertinent to Canada, USA and all international destination countries. Update TONFI personnel on any upcoming changes potentially impactful to TONFI business.
- Assist in assigning new codes for formulas and requesting new and updated codes for all other product components from MDP’s.
- Review analytical nutritional data from third party testing laboratories for accuracy and getting any discrepancies resolved.
- Assist with nutritional analyses in the development of new and reformulated products.

**Qualifications / Skills**:
**You Offer**:

- Minimum 5 years regulatory affairs experience, preferably in the food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledgeable in Canadian and U.S. food labeling regulations and requirements.
- International regulatory knowledge (EU, Asia) an asset.
- Strong ability in the interpretation of regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize workload and project manage are a must.
- Extremely detail oriented.
