**About the role**

As the **Unit Claims Manager - Accident Benefits Academy**, you will lead and play a critical role in ensuring we empower new-to-role colleagues through an engaging onboarding experience. You will lead, manage, and train new employees to be integrated and developed for the Accident Benefits team.

Location can be either Dartmouth or Moncton. Please note that in this role, you are part of a Hybrid work environment and can work from home 2 days a week.

**What you'll do here**:

- Provide coaching, training, and support to a new team of trainees to become Accident Benefit adjusters.
- Facilitate continuous learning by building robust development plans for your employees.
- Develop, recommend, and implement management and organizational initiatives to support company strategies including changes to organizational structure and process/technology improvements.
- Liaise with other claims experts on technical and administrative issues.
- Ensure learning outcomes are met by collaborating with other leaders while developing learning tests/evaluations, analyzing results, monitoring progress, and creating action plans throughout incubation and post-incubation.
- Partner with other business units to identify incubation needs and establish long-term post-incubation support.
- Develop new and effective solutions for current incubation initiatives by seeking out areas of opportunity for improvement and providing solutions that result in improved incubation processes and coaching methods.
- Recommend solutions to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness while enhancing the experience provided to internal clients.
- Leverage external /internal resources and learnings to develop teaching strategies that support the principles of workplace training.

**What you bring to the table**:

- Minimum of 5 years technical knowledge of Accident Benefits and/or a combination of Accident Benefits technical and management experience
- Proven leadership skills including ability to motivate, engage and coach employees
- Minimum of 1 year of direct leadership experience is considered an asset
- Create a supportive learning environment of collaboration and curiosity
- Strong proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
- Proven time management, efficiency, and organizational skills.
- Can engage an audience and maintain professionalism while providing advice and guidance.
- Solution-oriented with a focus on efficient and effective decision making.
- The ability to identify areas of risk and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
- CIP designation is an asset
- Adjuster license for NB, NL and PEI or ability to obtain is required
