Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion and are looking to expand our IT team with the addition of a Product Owner. The Product Owner will coordinate the activities of software developers who design and maintain the core software (both front-end and back-end) behind an interactive human-scale gaming facility. This will involve prioritizing all projects with software developers, game designers, graphic designers, and other colleagues.

**The Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead the planning of product releases and set expectations for delivery of new features and functionality
- Manage, plan, and coordinate activities of the development team to ensure the sprint progresses on schedule
- Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for all Activate software products
- Define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities
- Confer with the development team to provide direction and to resolve problems
- Keep the Director of IT informed on delivery status and keep a healthy roadmap for the development team
- Mitigate roadblocks impacting completion of release/sprint goals
- Provide feedback on works-in-progress and accept or reject final products
- Act as the voice of our players, understanding customer feedback and needs

**The Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or Certificate/Diploma in Software Development
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with Agile methodology and tools, including JIRA
- Willingness to work irregular hours if/when needed, including evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and leadership skills.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies
