We are a full service equine vet clinic seeking a vet assistant for the hospital. We are seeking to hire immediately for a full time (Monday/Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) hospital vet assistant position. Experience with handling, restraining and jogging/lunging horses is mandatory.

Job description includes:
Stall Cleaning/ Barn and Hospital Cleaning

Drawing up and dispensing/administering medication as requested

Setting up and taking down Equipment

Assisting in taking radiographs

Equipment Maintenance

Preparing and sterilizing surgery packs

Cleaning up the work area(s) and restocking as needed

Surgical Assistant (tech and scrub) once applicably trained

Cleaning surgery floors, counter, cabinets and recovery room

Patient treatments/changing fluids as directed

Care (feeding/watering/walking) and monitoring of Hospitalized patients

Patient assessment and reporting to supervisor

Perform lab work as requested

Admitting patients to the hospital and discharging patients

Emergency night on call for surgery as scheduled, once trained

Maintain hospital controlled substance log

Surgical patient prep: clip, bathe, catheter

**Experience**:

- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
