Reporting directly to the Paint & Blast Foreman, the Paint & Blast Coordinator role is to lead and organize the paint & blast team; prepare for painting structural steel components, skids, vessels, pipes; and final touch ups on completed packages.

What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Leading, organizing, and communicating with the paint team
- Facilitating Toolbox meetings
- Ensuring daily documentation is being filled out
- FLHA reviews (ensure they are being thoroughly and correctly filled out)
- Using CPU to look up, locate and read drawings
- Assisting with daily organization and preventative maintenance
- Operating paint equipment
- Performing daily maintenance and minor repairs of painting equipment.
- Mask/clean skids for sandblasting and painting.
- Requisition paints and/or supplies.
- Performing rigging techniques as per industry standards.
- Moving material to and from the blasting / painting areas
- Operate forklift to move material into, around and out of the blast/paint area
- Ensuring housekeeping is completed daily in assigned area
- Moving fabricated pieces to designated area
- Preparing finished product for shipping
- Reporting all non-conforming material to the Foreman

What You Bring

Your education and experience include
- Minimum two years of experience in a similar industry preferred.
- CPU efficient
- Previous experience with water-based epoxy paint and primer mixing requirements an asset.
- Experienced in proper rigging.
- Forklift certification preferred and WHMIS certification required.
- Possesses proficient operational knowledge of painting equipment and supplies.
- Must have CSA approved safety boots
- Strong people and employee relation skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good written and oral communication
- Ability to coach, mentor staff, run meetings and delegate work effectively.
- Quick problem solving and conflict resolution.
