- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with all financial regulations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze and manage budget including capital projects.
- Monitor and manage cash flow and funding requirements.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
- Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies as needed. *Qualifications:*
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or 3-5 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage 50).
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle a complex set of tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. *Assets:*
- Experience working with budgets would be considered an asset.
