TITLE: WAREHOUSE SHIPPER

REPORTS TO: PARTS MANAGEMENT

POSITION INFORMATION:
The Shipper/Receiver verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. The Shipper/Receiver also serves as an inventory control clerk by assuring proper control of the parts inventory and related administrative functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The shipper is responsible for accurately picking orders in a timely fashion for drivers or customers picking up at our location.
- Prepare bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Follow Road Salesman schedule and have parts order picked and ready in a timely manner.
- Stamp, glue, or tape identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Oversee Parts receiving staff
- Complete Volvo / Hino annual parts returns.
- Ensure Volvo cores are kept together and recorded for the Parts Manager to complete core returns
- Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications.
- Complete customs paperwork for U.S. shipments.
- Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments in parts department and warehouse.
- Receive damaged or defective goods returned to dealership and be designated Returned Goods,
- Receive unsold products returned by Parts Driver.
- Ensure that credits are received for returned parts.
- Return cores in a timely manner, complete paperwork, and return to Parts Manager for processing
- Keep parts department and warehouse clean and organized.
- Maintain Safety record of Fire Extinguishers and other safety equipment.
- Maintain parts department lift truck.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Will be trained on dealership inventory control system and other computer systems in use. Valid driver's license, Ability to use hand trucks and hand carts. Ability to use mechanical tools such as crimpers, pliers, wrenches, wire cutters etc. Ability to safely operate a lift truck. Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a physically demanding position. Will stand for the majority of shift. Will lift and transport parts weighing up to 70 pounds several times per day. Will be required to frequently climb stairs. Will be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. Will operate hand trucks and forklifts. Will be exposed to the elements, noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
