This role initiates, leads and/or participates in mental health initiatives focused on creating the future, improving the competitiveness, the client engagement or the co-operative identity of the claims team. This role researches best practices for psychological claims protocol and makes recommendations for changes or improvements. This role adopts a cross-functional view of improvements and seeks opportunities to respond to emerging unmet needs of our members and clients and finds new ways to connect with them. This role supports the development and marketing of Co-operators mental health products and identifies and participates in speaking opportunities aimed at increasing industry awareness of Co-operators’ mental health products. This role is responsible for monitoring disability claims of a psychological nature ensuring all have appropriate case management plans that are being implemented in a proactive and effective manner. This role works with disability case managers to provide insight, guidance and oversight for the management of psychological disability claims and identifies and/or creates resources and training opportunities for the claims team.

- Research mental health products and best practices to identify, lead and implement innovative solutions.
- Develop mental health products and provide marketing support.
- Monitor psychological claims management plans and activities.
- Provide guidance and support for psychological claims management plans and activities.
- Identify and coordinate/provide psychological claims resources and training opportunities.
- Identify and share trends and opportunities and solutions with the leadership team and wellness team to ensure tasks are aligned and are progressive.

**To join our team**:

- Completion of University Degree or equivalent experience, psychiatric nurse or psychologist preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years total experience in disability claims management.
- Extensive knowledge of psychological conditions and necessary treatment/intervention approaches is required.
- Interpersonal /relationship building skills are critical.
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills are critical.
- Project management experience is required.
- Public speaking skills with a high degree of professionalism is required.

- You will travel frequently.
- This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.
