- **Role Description**_ _: _Reporting to the owner, the group controller is a highly organized, and self-motivated individual. This role is accountable to regulate the ongoing financial health of the organization, as well as ensure all fiscal responsibilities are satisfied in driving the overall strategic growth of the organization.
**Responsibilities**:
- E_nsure all fiscal and governmental responsibilities are satisfied_
- _Develop financial and tax strategies including implementing procedures as needed;_
- _Oversee accounting department including performance reviews, development, and support of accounting staff_
- _Balance and maintain accurate ledgers for all companies;_
- _Provides input on tactical decisions_
- _Develop and maintain appropriate management information systems related to financial information_
- _Manage monthly and year-end financial statements_
- _Oversee cash flow and forecasting_
- _Lead and perform financial due diligence;_
- _Liase with other managers to implement operational best practices_
- _Report financial performance to the management team_
- _Manage a 3rd party benefit and pension plan for all companies_
- _Maintain Insurance, benefits, and RRSP programs_
- _Maintains relationships with financial institutions to secure financing from time to time_
**Education and professional requirements**:
- _Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field_
- _5 + years experience in full cycle accounting, CPA designation strongly preferred_
- _Leadership experience would be considered an asset_
- _HR experience would be considered an asset_
- _Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principals;_
- _Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals and internal controls;_
- _Strong knowledge of understanding business and income tax computations;_
- _Ability to prioritize tasks as required;_
- _Excellent attention to detail;_
- _Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. French and Spanish would also be an asset;_

This position is located in Val Caron, ON and is full time Monday to Friday (7:30 to 4:00). This position includes benefits and RRSP matching.
