Development & Engineer Department

Position Overview

Vantage is looking for a self-starting Mechanical Design Intern to help drive the Design Engineering Department process and daily task efforts across several ongoing projects and vendors. In this internship program you will have the opportunity to work closely with a team that focuses on data center operations, modifications, and greenfield expansion projects. The individual will work with experienced team members to assist with various functions as part of their daily activities. You will be assigned tasks as part of the focus areas described above that are associated with our existing data center footprint and support expansion of the footprint.

Essential Job Functions- Participate in aspects of mechanical design and engineering in support of development of construction documents and provide construction support- Drive tasks and milestones assigned by team leaders- Assist with submittal and RFI reviews- Provide reporting of tasks to track team KPIs- Assist with field investigations and finalize reports

Duties- Review of project specifications, schematic drawings, design and construction documents, submittals, test and balance reports- Attend project design team meetings and interface with team members- Support team leaders to troubleshoot /tune existing systems- Provide project design and construction coordination- Review power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) calculations- Assist with management of internal and external design teams and design consultants- Develop standard team documentation and templates- Additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements- Currently enrolled in a 4-year university pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering- Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status- Minimum GPA requirement - 3.0- Previous Internship experience preferred- Experience in Excel, and Word- Understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Bluebeam, and/or Navisworks is helpful- Travel required is expected to be between local sites

La D&I évalue de nouveaux sites, aligne les coûts et les échéanciers sur les objectifs de l’entreprise, et agit en tant qu’experte durant tout le cycle de vie du projet, de l’élaboration du concept à la mise en service. Pour ce faire, l’équipe collabore avec les Ventes, l’Exploitation et la direction. La D&I collabore aussi de près avec l’équipe de la construction pour créer un design intégré vertical et s’assure que les normes et designs, nouveaux ou déjà en place, sont exécutés avec efficacité. Fonctions principales- Participer à certains aspects du design mécanique et de l’ingénierie afin d’appuyer l’élaboration de documents de construction, et offrir du soutien en construction- S’occuper des tâches et des étapes clés attribuées par les chefs d’équipe- Aider à soumettre et à examiner les demandes d’information- Produire des rapports de tâches pour le suivi des indicateurs clés de performance de l’équipe- Aider à mener les investigations sur le terrain et à finaliser les rapports
