CoSA VFX Vancouver, Inc. has an opening for a permanent **IT Helpdesk Technician in our Vancouver, BC,** **studio**. This role will be part of the IT team reporting to the LA based Head of IT.

This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining systems, primarily in Vancouver, but will also provide support as needed in CoSA’s other studios; Los Angeles, CA, and Atlanta, GA. The endpoint environment is predominantly Windows and Mac; servers are predominantly Windows with some Linux and Mac.

?This role will be Vancouver based, with intermittent on-site responsibilities.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide user helpdesk support, image and deploy user workstations, create and terminate user accounts on multiple systems according to protocol, install and configure Mac and Windows software as needed, and support render operations for the facility.
- Troubleshoot base computer hardware, software, and OS issues, along with supporting Visual Effects (DCC) software issues are a significant part of this position’s responsibilities.
- Ensure that helpdesk requests are addressed in a timely fashion and are escalated as appropriate.
- Owns the primary responsibility of ensuring that workstation images are maintained and current at all times as well as that the proper images are being used to deploy workstations.
- Assist the onboarding of users to IT systems, ensuring new users are properly oriented and ready to contribute.
- Carry out proper record keeping and tracking of systems, software, and users; regularly reconcile tracking with utilization - inventory control, user licenses, or computer access to the network.
- Support installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware for dedicated render farm nodes, storage, networking, and other infrastructure systems, as needed and instructed by the Head of IT.
- Participate in technical research and testing in conjunction with the IT Team

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Formal education and/or certification in computer systems preferred - such as A+ credentials.
- One to two years system helpdesk experience in a Media/Entertainment or Game production environment preferred.
- Solid experience and fluency in Mac and Windows is required; additional Linux experience is preferred.
- Experience with floating license servers (FlexLM, RLM, etc.) very helpful. Experience administering Active Directory and Exchange accounts preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic TCP/IP administration of DNS, DHCP, and Static assignments required.
- Basic experience with and/or understanding of networking required, including familiarity with configuration, admin of static IP addresses, switching / VLAN’s / Firewall and, standard structured cabling.
- Basic scripting experience in Bash, Windows CMD/PowerShell, or Python preferred
