$69,553 - $86,796
**Position Summary**:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Grants and Revenue, the Financial Analyst supports the Budget and Grants Department in determining the Board's revenues for all of the Board's financial reporting cycles. This involves analysis, verification & reconciliation of financial information including but not limited to: enrolment projections & actuals, gathering and reviewing inputs for the Grants for Student Needs (GSNs), Ministry of Education Program Other (EPO) grants revenues, municipal tax revenues, secondment recoveries, facility rental childcare lease revenues and other miscellaneous revenues.
The Financial Analyst provides financial analysis support and Budget Tracker within the following areas of the Board: Program, Special Education, Well-Being & Experiential Learning, Policy, Strategy & Global Learning and schools
The Financial Analyst with deal with all levels of board staff as well as external parties such as municipalities, tenant leaseholders, external auditors, and the Ministry of Education.
**Qualifications/Experience**:
Post-Secondary degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related business field of study
Four years of progressively responsible finance experience, preferably in the education or government sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Completion of a CPA designation.
Public Sector accounting experience an asset, and/or corporate environment; experience working with multiple software reporting systems (financial & statistical)
OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
**Other Qualifications/Additional Experience**:
Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office suites (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote)
Advanced spreadsheet template development & analytical skills and attention to detail.
Experience in budget preparation and analysis.
Solid understanding of the Ministry's Transfer Payment Agreements ensuring the EPOs expenditures for both the EPO initiatives and Ministry Funding Model are spent within the Technical Papers & Education Act guidelines.
Strong knowledge and understanding of all DPCDSB Collective Agreements, Board’s GAP policies and Transfer Payment Agreements.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills including effective presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle matters requiring diplomacy, professionalism, sensitivity and confidentiality at all times.
Flexibility to undertake a diverse range of tasks with mínimal supervision.
Proven ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines, both externally & internally imposed.
