We are currently looking for an highly organized and self-motivated Financial Analyst with at least 1 to 2 years of analytical experience to join our Store Support Centre team. Our Financial Analysts have a sound knowledge of financial accounting principles (will be working in US GAAP) and excellent problem solving skills. They are flexible, with a good understanding of accounting flows and implications of entries in financial systems and will be working on analyses and reporting.
Some of the major responsibilities include:
- Updating daily cash flow report with corporate bank statements, follow up with any unknown transactions with the bank, facilitate payments through the bank portal, communicate with bank to resolve payment issues.
- Monitoring cash balance and collect backup documents for cash adjustments to prepare bank reconciliations during month end.
- Investigating variances and record notes for any carry over variances, prepare cash related journal entries for month end.
- Preparing detailed Cash Forecasts weekly with analysis of variances for submission to GS Treasury.
- Preparing any analyses related to vendor AP forecasts to provide insight into Canada credit limit requirements from vendors.
- For Inventory Obsolescence, preparing reporting of projected slow moving inventory impact and changes for current and future periods.
- Running Store P/L reports in Navision (monthly), monitor distribution to stores and review for accuracy and reasonableness using knowledge of accounting principles.
- Taking initiative and investigating any unusual items to determine whether any issue may exist.
- Preparing various other reports for stores including development of some new requests.
- Monitoring intra-company balances in Navision and ensure that balance sheet accounts net to zero at month end.
- Excellent understanding of impact of posting and adjustments from an accounting perspective is required. Timely monitoring and adherence to vendor agreements is vital.
- Using knowledge of accounting flow of transactions through financial systems, reconcile back-end rebates receivable and price protections monthly during month end close week.
A successful candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from four-year university program; CPA professional accounting designation (may be from CMA, CA or CGA program). Close to CPA completion acceptable.
