Production Lead

**Position Overview**:
Assists Supervisor with daily production responsibilities in accordance with plant policies and procedures in compliance with OHSA standards and safety regulations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Works in production and acts as a back-up to the Supervisor in a leadership capacity; able to perform duties of each role in department as stand-in for any absent employees or as needed to meet production targets.
- Assists Supervisor to ensure that shift production goals are met.
- Supports production in accordance with plant rules, procedures and health and safety polices, acts in leadership capacity.
- Ensures that protective equipment required by law and health and safety policies are used and maintained properly by employees and that employees understand the reason for its use.
- Ensures that all injuries are treated and reported according to Vinylbilt First Aid program and documentation is accurate and timely; Ensures Supervisor is notified of all health and safety incidents.
- Trains temporary staff and new employees as needed.
- Take Accountability and Ownership in assisting Supervisors in managing plant employees: scheduling, attendance, performance, labor forecasting, overtime, etc.
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills, leads by example.
- Coordinates production startups and shutdowns.
- Sufficient knowledge of product and processes to troubleshoot issues and escalates accordingly.
- Ensures that machinery, equipment and work areas are be properly maintained and in safe working condition and escalates issues to Supervisor.
- Ensures staff compliance on all health and safety standards, rules and regulations.
- Works closely with departmental employees and able to resolve employee related issues; escalates any issues to supervisor as required.
- Inspects and ensures the quality of the product being produced.
- Other duties as assigned to meet the demands of the business.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing.
- Extensive knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.
