**How your role will add to the story**:
The Internal Controls Manager will lead the design and operating effectiveness of financial and operational controls across the entire company and manage all required Group-reporting responsibilities to the parent company in Germany. In addition, this role is responsible for managing the company’s entire Customs process and coordinating the import and export of cars and parts, as well as the necessary filing/reporting to the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA). Further, the role will drive company-wide process improvement and updating of work instruction documentation and will work with the entire breadth of the organization, including the National Wholesale division.
**A day in the life**
- Coordinate and oversee company-wide Internal Controls testing and reporting for Mercedes-Benz, reporting directly to the Group Team in Germany.
- Manage and ensure the effectiveness of financial controls, ensuring compliance with Mercedes-Benz AG and Mercedes-Benz Canada policies.
- Lead the Controls Framework Assessment program for the CEO and CFO.
- Supervise colleagues in updating and improving control documentation and work instructions.
- Ensure full compliance with Mercedes-Benz AG policies and local laws.
- Raise controls awareness across Mercedes-Benz Canada, securing support and collaboration from management and employees.
- Provide ongoing communication and training on control and compliance requirements.
- Perform risk assessments and oversee the design and implementation of mitigation and improvement initiatives.
- Manage the company’s Customs process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinating import/export activities.
- Serve as the key point of contact with the Customs broker and the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA), ensuring accurate and prompt payment of Customs duties and taxes.

**Qualifications**:
**Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits**:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a large professional services firm or 10+ years in a comparable role.
- CPA designation (CA preferred).
- Specialized knowledge in Controls, Internal Audit, Canadian Tax, and Accounting (IFRS).
- Strong influence, leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Proven project management skills with a track record of achieving results.
- Excellent judgment, problem-solving capabilities, and analytical mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse teams or stakeholders
