Capilano Volkswagen is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented **Assistant Automotive Controller** to join our dynamic team. As an Assistant Automotive Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial aspect of our dealership operations. You will work closely with the Automotive Controller, the dealership Vice President, and other members of the Senior Management Team to ensure accurate financial reporting for our stakeholders while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Your expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting principles will contribute to the overall success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Automotive Controller in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the automotive division, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide insightful recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor financial performance metrics, identify trends, and report on key findings to the Automotive Controller and Vice President.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the automotive division.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and presentations for executive management, providing accurate and timely information.
- Conduct financial analysis on various projects, investments, and initiatives, assessing their viability and potential impact on the automotive division.
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices, and recommend adjustments to financial processes and policies as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- **Familiarity with Reynolds & Reynolds, One-Eighty, and/or Tekion is a very strong asset.**:

- Demonstrated ethical conduct and adherence to confidentiality standards in handling sensitive financial information.

**Salary**: $75,000.00-$102,000.00 per year
