**Summer Student: Markets Coordinator**

Our Chamber of Commerce is looking to fill a temporary 12 week full time position in
Fort Saskatchewan.

The Fort Saskatchewan & District Chamber of Commerce is a not-for profit organization dedicated to the growth of the business community. Reporting to the Marketing,

Communications & Events Specialist (MCES), the Markets Coordinator will assist with the running of the Farmers' Market, aid in marketing and communications for events, and offer membership and administrative support to the MCES.

Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Assisting in managing and curating the weekly Farmers' Market, including direct communication with vendors, database management, and as the on-site

Chamber lead
- Enforcing the rules and regulations of the weekly Farmers' Market
- Updating website and creating dynamic social media content for the Farmers'

Market and other Chamber events
- Planning, executing and managing special events & promotions related to the

Farmers’ Market
- Marketing support for the Farmers’ Market
- Membership support
- Basic administrative duties as required

Preferred Skills and Experience:

- Superior organization and time-management skills
- A detailed oriented, self-starter who can work independently and as part of a busy team
- Outgoing and effective team player, contributing to a positive team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Superior customer service skills for dealing with vendors, suppliers and market attendees
- Strong social media skills (specifically Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter)
- Experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
- Leadership experience or experience with problem-solving, enforcing guidelines, and conflict resolution is a plus.

Job Requirements:

- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to lift and carry 20lbs.
- Must be available to work Thursdays until 8:00 pm.
- This is a 12-week position with a wage of $16 - $19 per hour depending on experience.

**Job Type**: Temporary

Job Hours: 37.5 hours/week

M, T, W, F: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Th: 11:30 am - 7:30 pm

Job Location: Fort Saskatchewan

To be eligible for this position, you must be between 15 and 30 years of age on the start date of the job. You also must have been a full-time student during the previous academic year and be intending to return to full-time studies in the next academic year.

You also must be an Alberta Resident and be legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations or a protected person under the Canadian

Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
