**Job Summary**
- Athletics and Recreation takes a holistic approach to enhancing the Dalhousie experience by creating and sharing ways to engage and connect students through physical activity and wellness, and to contribute to student success. Reporting to the Associate Director, Facilities and Operations, the Manager, Facility Operations & Services will manage and execute the day to day services required for all activities taking place in the recreation facilities (Dalplex, Studley Gym, Wickwire Field, Sexton Gym) on the Halifax campus.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee checks for all equipment and facilities. Develops and implements best practices in risk management and safety protocols for all staff in the facilities.
- Maintain a high-level working knowledge of all athletic, sport and fitness equipment, department electronics, laundry machines, the pool filtration system and pool chemicals.
- Purchase equipment and sundry products, as required.
- Financial responsibilities of this position include revenue generation via facility rentals, plus staff payroll and procurement expenses.
- Responsible for the management of two full time NSGEU staff, the Assistant Supervisors, Facility Services, as well as the oversight and direction of 25-40 casual student support staff.

**Note**
Due to operational hours of the department, flexible hours and on-call availability will be required.
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree, plus three to five years’ experience working in a multi-sport facility (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Sound system and electronic sports related equipment operating knowledge.
- Budget and human resource management experience.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to handle competing priorities.
- Experience managing, supervising, and mentoring employees and student staff.
- Basic First Aid.
- Must have WHMIS certification, or obtain within 3 months of being hired.
- Certified Pool Operators certificate. Transportation of Dangerous Goods course.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Fall Arrest Protection certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
