Housekeeper (Ft)

**Scope of Position**:
The Housekeeper shall provide housekeeping and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner, according to the policies and procedures of the Home.

**Employment Terms**:

- Must have the ability to commute to work (1333 Rideau Ferry Road, Perth, ON)
- Must have a Canadian work permit

**Shifts Available**:
7:00 am to 3:00 pm (7 shifts bi-weekly, working every second weekend).

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operates and cleans equipment, furniture and cleans and maintains all areas related to residents as per work routines.
- Cleans resident rooms on a weekly basis following the schedule set out by the home.
- Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner.
- Participates as a member of the maintenance team and provides support to the other members of the team.
- Projects the appropriate image and focus on customer service in their dealings with residents, families and guests.
- Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations.
- Provides personal laundry services for residents in accordance with established work routines.
- Assists and attends to the needs of the residents as required.
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
- Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents.
- Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations.
- Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Education/Experience**:

- Previous experience in housekeeping and/or laundry services.
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors.
- Effectiveinterpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints.
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Must be able to operate related equipment.
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time as well as lift and carrying heavy trays and items.
