Supporting Canadians in their decumulation journey - how they will drawdown their savings and spend their money in retirement - is a critical way that Sun Life is helping Clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.

The Program Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery of Sun Life’s decumulation strategy and achieving defined outcomes. A core focus will be to develop decumulation solutions that are easy to understand, provide value, promote growth, and meet the needs of Sun Life’s Clients. This includes introducing new products, services and enhancements to market working through all stages of development - from ideation to product launch and monitoring. This role will report to the Program Director, Decumulation.

**What will you do?**:
**Program management and execution**:

- Help to shape, plan, manage and implement decumulation initiatives across workstreams using a centralized, coordinated and harmonized approach
- Support development and management of an integrated plan of all activities, including monitoring and reporting on progress, and driving execution according to established success criteria
- Collaborate effectively with various stakeholder groups within Group Retirement Services (GRS) and other business groups, including Business Development, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations and Digital Enterprise
- Identify impacted stakeholders, establish and manage stakeholder expectations, and identify, resolve and escalate risks and issues to appropriate stakeholders
- Prepare and present both formal presentations and informal updates

**Product development**:

- Research and analyze new decumulation products and capabilities available in the global market
- Assess new ideas against a strong understanding of what Clients are looking for
- Develop design briefs for new ideas, including product specifications to give a clear, focused outline to leaders
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify, create and launch new ideas approved for development
- Provide information, act as a resource for questions and assist training teams and business partners with understanding products and capabilities
- Monitor key performance indicators and evaluate and suggest product or capability improvements

**Product management**:

- Regularly assess competitive environment of GRS’ decumulation products and capabilities
- Identify impact of new trends or changes in the environment and recommend solutions to address these changes
- Support product specific reporting, including creating and managing key product documents, forms and internal reference documents
- Identify potential solutions when problems arise and execute once approved
- Analyze and manage the impacts of internal and legislative changes on products

**Tool development and updates**:

- Provide input into design and functionality of new and current tools
- Identify opportunities for new tools to support GRS’ decumulation products

**Decumulation research, insights and data analytics**:

- Coordinate and conduct research and data analytics to define and drive success across workstreams
- Continuously scan the market and conduct research on decumulation, including competitive landscape and local and international market trends, to surface and articulate opportunities to internal partners and leaders

**What you need to succeed?**:

- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including ability to structure problems and hypotheses and transform them into solutions through exploration, innovation and a strong understanding of sponsors’ and members’ needs and behaviors
- Demonstrated ability to develop and present recommendations based on thorough quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Strong and effective relationship builder with the ability to facilitate, listen, influence, negotiate, resolve issues, coordinate, organize, work with and present effectively to different stakeholders in a variety of forums
- Self-starter and motivated individual with an outcomes-focused view
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task effectively while working with various teams
- Post-secondary education in business or commerce is preferred
