JOB SUMMARY:*
The Data Center Engineer (DCE) will be responsible for supporting all aspects of data center operations up to and including BMS monitoring, BMS reporting and trending, shift rounds (interior and exterior), critical preventative maintenance and general building maintenance as required. This is a full-time position with a requirement to work overtime and weekends as needed.

You will be working in brand new buildings (less than four years old) with some of the latest technologies and equipment within them.

During the first few months of training, work hours will be M-F, 8-hour days
Once 7/24 Shift Rotation starts
The work schedule will be 12-hour shifts providing 24x7x365 coverage
- This role requires flexibility to work holidays and overtime as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:_*
- Monitor the overall building operation via BAS (Building Automation Systems) and ensure all systems are working in proper operation mode.
- BAS / EPMS trending and reporting.
- Respond and report (written and verbal) all alarm conditions (BMS / FLS / Security) and take appropriate actions as required.
- Respond to all alarm conditions and escalate to senior management as per the escalation process.
- Perform preventative maintenance and regular repairs as assigned with minimum supervision.
- Perform escort requirements of all contractors and monitor their work. Ensure contractors are always following all necessary safety rules and security procedures.
- Perform daily rounds of the building. Complete the round report. Address/Report/Escalate all issues observed during the daily rounds.
- Continue to learn and understand all critical building systems in order to be able to respond and take appropriate corrective actions as required during any emergency.
- Complete/Submit all reporting requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND LICENSES_*
- Preferred: Licensed Journeyman Electrician, Licensed/Certified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning System Mechanic or Certified Building Operator (or equivalent).
- Individuals holding one of the above Licenses/Certifications will be considered, even without any previous facilities maintenance experience, as we will provide all necessary training.
- A high school diploma with completion of a technical training program in maintenance or a recognized apprenticeship program in a maintenance trade.

**_EXPERIENCE_**
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Experience with BMS, FLS, CMMS systems.
- Team player, analytical/technical skilled, and detailed oriented.
- Able to work under pressure and in a fast pasted environment.
- Experienced Data Center Engineer (DCE) with 3+ years in critical facilities maintenance and operations experience, holding one of the preferred qualifications listed above.
- Technical knowledge, experience and/or understanding of various building systems/equipment as listed below will be an asset:

- Electrical Distribution system High Voltage (HV) / Low Voltage Systems (LV)

(27.6 kV, 13.8 kV, 600 V, 480 V, 277 V, 208 V, & 120 V)
- UPS, STS, ATS, PDU, Buss Tap Cans & Bussing
- Standby generators & fueling systems
- Various building cooling systems (comfort and critical systems).
- Fire Life Safety Systems (FLS), wet fire sprinkler risers, and distribution systems,

pre-action fire sprinklers, riser, and distribution system, smoke detectors, and
VESDA systems
