University Health Network (UHN) is a research hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto and a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network. As Project Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing and providing ongoing project management leadership and support for an interdisciplinary and multi-institutional research program aimed at developing stem cell
- and tissue engineering-based therapies for cardiac diseases. You will work closely and effectively with project team members, clinical and administrative stakeholders, commercialization professionals, leaders and external parties as required to ensure that projects are correctly chartered, planned, and executed within scope, on time, and within budget.
**Your key responsibilities include**:
- Initiate and plan projects including the development of scope, goals and objectives
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and documentation, including work plans, risk management plans, project schedules, a system of tracking and sharing project status, resources, key milestones, cost estimates and budgets
- Engage key stakeholders to ensure project activities are executed based on plans and standards, within specific scope, budget and schedule
- Oversee day-to-day activities of project coordinators and provide direction, mentorship and coaching as appropriate
- Oversee contract development and contract administration processes where applicable
- Execute, track and monitor progress to plan and distribute the appropriate project information to all relevant stakeholders
- Identify improvement opportunities and escalate key issues/risks; propose and execute solutions to address challenges or mitigate risks
- Develop plan for knowledge translation and dissemination as required
- Develop and present material for review and information using strong written, verbal, and graphical communication skills with the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively
- Perform data analysis and prepare detailed reports; present findings to leadership teams
**Qualifications**:
- At minimum, completion of a Bachelor’s degree program in Medical Science, Business or Health Administration, Health Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field. Masters degree an asset.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred
- Background in stem cell biology, cardiovascular biology, or engineering an asset
- Project planning, management and implementation experience required
- Change management experience preferred
- At least five (5) years practical and related experience required
- At least five (5) years academic research experience, an asset
- Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Project (or equivalent software) required
- Experience with writing proposals and reports preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple demands and competing priorities on an ongoi
