YMCA Camping and Outdoor Education offers outdoor experiences that foster personal growth and build community. After taking part in our programs, children and youth return home more confident, independent, and with new friendships. YMCA Camp Pine Crest is an overnight camp serving children, families, and organizations through naturally focussed programs that embody the mission, vision, and outcomes of the YMCA. Camp Pine Crest is made up of 650 acres of Muskoka wilderness surrounded by 3 interconnected lakes with 8km of shoreline; has over 26km of hiking trails and 7,500 sq. ft. of dock, and has 60 buildings.

The Waterfront Supervisor is responsible for consistently facilitating the delivery of safe, enjoyable, challenging, fun and inclusive water-based programming to Pine Crest They are responsible for the successful day-to-day operations of all waterfront areas, including all on-site swimming areas, canoeing, and kayaking programs. Alongside the Program Director, the Waterfront Supervisor’s focus will be developing new programs, mentoring staff and contributing to their ongoing training, having a thorough understanding of high-quality programming and program resource development, mentoring waterfront program team members and providing timely and frequent feedback as well as being flexible in their day-to-day role.

This position is responsible for ensuring that YMCA, Camping Quality Recommended Practices, and OCA standards are met in each program area. The Waterfront Supervisor will work in conjunction with the Program Director and their respective teams to plan and deliver special events, schedule and oversee skill development areas while ensuring skill levels are followed and tracked while managing a budget for land-based program supply needs throughout the summer and ensuring that all program equipment is in good working order.

**In this role, you will**:

- Ensure the safety of all waterfront activities and respond immediately to rectify any safety concerns; be proactive in your role in ensuring the waterfront environment is safe and organized.
- Coordinate all swimming, canoeing, and kayaking programs, including direct program delivery as required. Work with the Program Director and other Area Heads to plan and lead all camp activities, section nights, and special events.
- Provide leadership to the camp staff team by monitoring, coaching, and mentoring staff, as well as providing ongoing feedback to staff and appraisals to direct reports.
- Supervise the swimming, boating, and sailing area heads, ensuring they fulfill their roles and receive ongoing feedback and support to ensure the highest quality swim and boating programs are being delivered.
- Ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time, including all paperwork associated with running the waterfront (i.e., in-service trainings, opening and closing checklists), appraisals of direct reports, and any administration duties delegated from the camp coordinator (scheduling, etc.).
- Understand the importance of the volunteer staff partnership and integrate the value of philanthropy and volunteerism in dealings with participants, volunteers, donors, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**You bring**:

- Minimum of 19 years of age for insurance purposes
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a camp or aquatic/waterfront environment
- NLS, Pleasure Craft Operator Card, G Class driver’s license by first day of employment and valid until at least the last day of your contract
- Lifesaving Instructor & Examiner, ORCKA Basic Instructor, White Sail Levels & experience as a supervisor or Program Head considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to lead and empower an inclusive staff team
