This position is a hybrid position and allows some flexibility to work from home.

**Qualifications**:
The following are a list of qualifications the law clerk must have, including but not limited to:
Law clerk diploma and minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Wills and Estates clerk and/or equivalent experience;
Thorough knowledge of estate administration procedures and Rules of Civil Procedure ;
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and deadlines;
Ability to work well independently and with professional and support staff;
Must be detail-oriented and possess initiative; and

Must have the ability to liaison effectively with the Court and clients.

**Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
Estate Planning

Eeceive and carry out instructions from lawyers to draft Wills and Powers of Attorney for Property and Personal Care;
Attend meetings with clients, as required by lawyer;
Organize and keeping track of estate planning documents and prepare reporting letters;
Update and maintain the estate document precedents database; and

Maintain and enforce protocol for releasing original estate documents when clients, attorneys or executors require them

Estate Administration

Work with clients to gather information to obtain a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee;
Prepare and coordinate authorizations to assist clients with obtaining details of assets from third-party institutions as required;
Ascertain and prepare a list of original estate assets together with calculation of estate administration tax;
Receive issued Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee from Court and preparation of reporting letters;
Prepare necessary documents to redeem and/or transfer assets of the estate, as required;
Respond to client questions and concerns throughout the administration of the estate or refer questions to lawyer as appropriate;
Assisting estate trustees with administration duties as required, including the preparation of accounting to beneficiaries; and

Coordinate payment to beneficiaries, as appropriate.
