Marigold is a design-build joint venture agreement between Colas and Parsons.

We are preparing for the next phase of building, and require a **Superintendent

The Superintendent is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required.

Responsibilities: o Safety o Provide leadership and direction to construction professionals, and all other site personnel embracing a “lead by example” attitude. o Ensure trades/subcontractors/workers adhere to Health and Safety Policies, Safe Work Procedures, and best practices. Promote a safe work environment by partaking in Site Inspections, Leadership Safety Engagement Tours, Hazard and Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks, etc. o Ensure all Subcontractors, Foremen and Craftsmen have are competent to perform their task, by ensuring they have the requisite knowledge, training and experience. o In conjunction with Field Coordinator and General Superintendent, partake in the preparation of Work Method Statements and Job Hazard Analyses for all major operations, and obtain approval from General Superintendent, Segment Manager, and Health and Safety Coordinator prior to the start of work. o Provide input upon request in the review of company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. o Coordinate inspection of temporary works as required by OHS legislation (eg. formwork, scaffolding, working platforms, crane pads, etc.) o Environmental o Be familiar and knowledgeable of Environmental Performance Requirements outlined in the Project Agreement. o Be knowledgeable of MIP’s Environmental Construction Operation (ECO) Plan, including but not limited to procedures for erosion and sediment control, fueling, disposal of water and slurry, soil management, protection of wildlife, noise and dust control. o Assist in development of site-specific Erosion and Sediment Control plans with the Environmental team. o Coordination the implementation and maintenance of Environmental Control measures. o Quality o Ensure workmanship, materials and processes are in accordance with Project Quality standards. o Promote a strong Quality culture amongst crew members and subcontractors, that is committed to the “doing it right the first time”. o Become well-versed in project requirements, by reading and understanding relevant sections of the Project Agreement, relevant codes and standards, Inspection and Test Plans, Detailed Design Drawings, Shop Drawings, Manufacturer’s Product Specifications, etc. o Communicate with Field Coordinators, and Quality Control personnel to ensure proper interpretation of drawings, specifications, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). o Coordinate and schedule inspections as required by the ITP (eg. surface preparation, rebar inspections, etc.) o Proactively identify any deficiencies and ensure Non-Conformance Reports are promptly submitted by the Field Coordinator. Work with the Field Coordinator to establish the root cause of the deficiency and prepare a corrective action plan. o Ensure any Non-Conformances are promptly rectified in accordance with the approved corrective action plan. o Planning/Coordination o Partake in Constructability Reviews for interim design package submittals, and proactively identify any issues that may become a hindrance to execution on site. o Partake in Global Schedule Review meetings, understand key project milestones and communicate these milestones to crew members. Ensure all aspects of planning and coordination are performed with these key milestones in mind, understanding that time is of the essence. o Prepare Three Week Look Ahead Schedules working in conjunction with Field Coordinators and General Superintendent. o Coordinate all construction activities within assigned scope of work, and ensure the timely and efficient allocation of resources required to complete the work. o Provide forecasted labour resource requirements to complete the work within the scheduled timeframe. o Participate in Readiness Reviews on a regular basis with other members of the Structures team. o Scheduling Routine Equipment Maintenance Daily Duties o Daily supervision and coordination of the sub-trades/subcontractors and workers. o Attend and lead crew toolbox talk and supervise stretch and flex: o If multiple subcontractors are on a given site, lead a mass toolbox talk to ensure all Subcontractors and Self-Perform crews are aware of each others activiti
