We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Oversize Loads Dispatch Specialist to join our specialized freight department. In this role, you will be responsible for independently coordinating the efficient and safe transportation of oversized or overweight loads. This position requires a strong understanding of obtaining permits and adhering to the legal requirements and restrictions of specialized freight. You will thrive in a dynamic work environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability while occasionally assisting other departments.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate the transportation of oversized or overweight loads, ensuring proper scheduling and route planning to meet client deadlines while adhering to transportation regulations.
- Determine the most efficient and safe routes for transporting oversized loads, considering factors such as road restrictions, bridge weight limits, and traffic conditions.
- Obtain the necessary permits and approvals for transporting oversized loads, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.
- Maintain open communication channels with truck drivers, clients, and regulatory agencies to provide updates on load status, route changes, and any potential issues during transportation.
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, including securing loads properly and providing drivers with necessary safety information.
- Provide training and support to truck drivers on handling oversized loads safely and efficiently, including proper load securing techniques and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Possess a strong understanding of state/provincial laws relating to load restrictions of heavy haul.
- Negotiate prices and quote transportation rates for over-dimensional freight to customers.
- Research and understand market trends, changes, and seasonality relevant to the industry.
- Collaborate with internal team members to ensure client satisfaction.

**Requirements and Skills**:

- 5+ years of experience in logistics or dispatching, preferably with a focus on oversized loads.
- Experience with flatbeds is a must.
- Strong knowledge of transportation laws and regulations governing the transportation of oversized loads.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transportation is preferred.
- Proficiency in transportation and logistics software such as Fleet Manager and Load Link is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office operating systems (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn new platforms/systems.
- Knowledge of transportation laws and regulations within Canada and the USA.

**Hours of Work**
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Weekly hours may vary depending on operational/business needs
- Occasional weekend availability
