We are a dairy related manufacturing facility looking for a full time Junior Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. As the Junior Quality Assurance Technician, you will be tasked with assisting us to maintain consistent standards of quality and ensuring compliance with governmental and 3rd party regulatory bodies.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following**:

- Update and maintain Quality Assurance Programs to ensure compliance with CFIA, HACCP and GMP standards
- Perform routine microbiological and chemical tests of incoming materials and ingredients to verify conformance to specifications
- Conduct microbiological and chemical test of processes and finished products in support of research and quality control in food production and sanitation
- Conduct or assist in air and water quality testing and assessments, environmental monitoring and protection activities
- Research solutions to problems affecting the production of the product
- Train and monitor production workers to implement procedures required to meet quality and food safety program goals
- Conduct physical inspection of in-process ingredients and finished product.
- Keep daily records of processes and finished products. Develop and update manufacture practice and sanitation programs implementing latest regulatory requirement.
- Prepare for and participate in third party audits & governmental inspections
- Calculate and format nutritional tables

**Job Requirements**:

- University Degree/College Diploma in food science, or related fields, and/or a combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of CANADIAN food safety and good lab practice in food microbiology and food chemistry.
- Good computer skills and proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- Must be able to work in a team environment & have good interpersonal skills
- Will be working on the plant floor as well as in the lab
- Knowledge of the DAIRY industry an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00 per hour
