**Are you a passionate and dedicated team leader looking for a dynamic and exciting work environment? **Hillside Veterinary Hospital**in Victoria, BC is seeking a Practice Manager (18 month maternity leave) to join our growing practice.

At **Hillside**, we believe in providing comprehensive care to our patients through traditional and progressive medicine. Our services include acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, orthopedic surgery and physical rehabilitation, giving our staff the opportunity to expand their skills and knowledge in these areas.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and dedicated team player. In return, a friendly and collaborative team environment, and opportunities for wellness and team activities.

Our hospital is in a prime location in Victoria, BC with close access to beautiful beaches, parks, cycling, and more. We have a team-based approach with a supportive staff, including 8 veterinarians, 6 RVTs, and ample support staff.
- Ample leadership experience
- Dedication to what you do every day Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude
- A strong desire build solid relationships with staff and clients
- Solid communication skills, both when dealing with clients and interpersonal relationships
- Veterinary or similar experience would be a strong asset, but not required
- Be eligible to work in BC

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE YOU WILL HAVE:

- An abiding love of animals and a deep understanding of the human/animal bond.
- Previous veterinary industry experience is preferred.
- Previous experience as a manager, preferably in the veterinary industry (but not required)
- Excellent management and leadership skills with the ability to set priorities, delegate, motivate and the ability to grow high-performing teams.
- Client service oriented.
- Be able to balance the needs of the business, team and clients and find win-win solutions when those needs are in conflict.
- Proven ability to hire, train, coach staff and create a culture of accountability.
- Highly developed emotional intelligence to compassionately and effectively navigate emotionally charged situations in the hospital.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- A collaborative mind-set and a strong desire to build relationships with team members, clients and the community
- Experience with drafting and managing shift schedules.
- Enthusiasm, high energy and a positive attitude.
- Be eligible to work in BC

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$74,000.00 per year
