**Job Summary**

Under the direction of the Manager of Economic Development, successful applicants will be responsible for
the daily administrative functions of the Thorold Lock 7 Viewing Centre.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements**

**Education**Completion of Secondary School
Some university preferred

**Experience**Previous experience in Recreation and/ or Tourism Sector is

considered an asset

**Qualifications, ** Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Duties include but may not be limited to:

Plan, organize, schedule, monitor, evaluate and provide guidance to Lock 7 Viewing Center Staff

Act as the liaison between staff and the Manager of Economic Development reporting issues arising
with participants, equipment or staff

Manage the City's Tourism social media channels to promote local events

Ensure the maintenance of inventory control of tourism literature

Perform tourism related research

Greet visitors as they arrive to the Viewing Centre

Provide information regarding the Lock 7 ship schedule, promoting Thorold business, and local events
and activities

Assist with maintenance, cleaning and disinfecting of viewing centre amenities including lobby, office
and washroom

Report facility measurables including daily attendance, purpose of guest visits and frequently asked
questions

Answer questions from the general public and patrons

**Additional Information**

**General**
Work safely in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

**Working Conditions**

Typical office environment

Exposure to outside environment

Able to work with mínimal supervision

May be required to attend off-site meetings

Driver’s license and access to a vehicle may be required
