Within the Finance and Corporate Services Division, the newly formed Indigenous Fiscal Agreements Branch will provide leadership and guidance on establishing a new fiscal framework to uphold jurisdiction as well as supporting numerous funding agreements underway. The Analysis and Decision Support Unit is responsible for supporting the branch with finances and cost accounting data analysis for the ministry’s initiatives and also responsible for supporting the funding for the Indigenous Child and Family Services Agencies.

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing expert support in data analysis, comparative analysis, financial modelling and reporting, research and development work to advance the branch’s mandate and strengthen the Ministry’s decision making in the delivery of child and family programs and services.

**Job Requirements**:
Education and Experience:

- University Degree or Diploma in Business (or equivalent) plus a minimum of two (2) years of experience in financial and management accounting OR
- Certificate in Business plus a minimum three (3) years of experience in financial and management accounting
- Experience developing and/or maintaining complex spreadsheets; preparing financial statements and reports and developing and maintaining budget and expenditure forecasting tools

Preference may be given to applicants with:

- Experience in conducting analytical research, business case analysis and financial statement preparation to support financial decision making
- Experience working in a government setting or with large organizations
- Experience working with Microsoft Access database and/or Microsoft Visual Basic

**About this Position**:
This position can be based in any Ministry of Children and Family Development office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
There are two positions available. One permanent opportunity and one 7-month temporary opportunity. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
