Position Description

**Responsibilities**:
Marketing
- Develop and coordinate marketing initiatives by monitoring and updating social media outlets and/or website, hosting information sessions and participating in community events.
- Implement and monitor all aspects of our digital marketing on various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Tiktok, etc., post our promotional information regularly to attract more followers.
- Develop informative, engaging digital campaigns that support the strategic plans of the organization.
- Maintain and grow social media presence across multiple channels
- Develop and assist with some content creation using various design tools.
- Use analytics to track, monitor, report on, and optimize efforts; works with site staff to track and report on media activity
- Develop and deliver communications training materials to support capacity building for team members in communication strategies.
- Coordinates posting of engaging text, image and video content for social media channels.
- Maintains and refreshes marketing tools, including print templates, image and video banks, and policies and guidelines
- Demonstrate a strong aptitude within the digital space, staying abreast of new media, trends, and best practices.

Outreach
- Determine the degree to which information and resources meet the needs of individuals and communities in which they are located;
- Provide information on the support services available which can assist individuals and communities;
- Liaises with other service delivery agents and community resources to promote the organization and update information on other services
- Prepare summary reports and record daily and monthly statistics.
- Maintain, in strict confidence, individual client information and records
- Participate in staff and professional development meetings
- Commitment to professional development and career self-management.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong and effective customer service and communications skills; assist with brand promotion
- Skilled at developing and maintaining positive relationships with community partners
- Strong writing/editing skills for digital platforms and experience in generating dynamic digital-based content
- Competence in implementing social media strategies
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management, organizational skills with attention to detail
- Must be comfortable working in a variety of work settings and with diverse populations
- A role model that practices exceptional work ethics and practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with the capacity for adaptation and flexibility;
- Functional ability to speak a second language (French) considered an asset
- Adherence to inclusionary, ethical decision making, confidentiality and respect for diversity

Education / Experience Requirements
- Enrolled in relevant post-secondary studies in marketing, public relations, English, business administration or equivalent experience in media relations, communications and/or marketing. As this is a student position, must be returning to studies in the Fall.
- Experience with using social media and implementing marketing plans
- Experience with customer service, sales and /or community outreach
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s license and / or access to reliable transportation
- Ability to secure a clear Vulnerable Sector Checks and/or Criminal Record Checks
