Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM’s Tech Re-Entry program is looking for talented technical professionals who are looking to restart their technical careers after an absence from the workforce of 12 months or more. This paid returnship will enable you to work on projects that match your expertise, interests, and abilities and could lead to full-time employment.

During your IBM Tech Re-Entry returnship program, you will have the opportunity to update your skills in a contemporary work environment. You will have access to the latest tools and technologies available and work alongside multi-disciplinary teams to hone your expertise and deliver on client-critical solutions. You’ll be able to experience the breadth of IBM resources while developing new skills and relationships. Re-Entry hires participate in ~6 month on the job training to refresh skills and prepare to ease back to work. The experience provides personalized technical learning to update and gain additional skills, earning badges and credentials along the way.

**In order to qualify for this returnship, you must have been out of the workforce for a minimum of 12 months.**

To help achieve this win-win outcome, a 'day-in-the-life' in this role may include, but not be limited to
- Understanding clients' main challenges and developing solutions that help them reach true business value by working through the phases of design, development integration, implementation, migration and product support with a sense of urgency
- Creating and executing agile plans where you are responsible for installing and provisioning assets, testing, migrating to production, and day-two operations
- Demonstrating a natural bias towards self-motivation, curiosity, and initiative in addition to navigating data and people to find answers and present solutions Strong collaboration and communication skills as you work across the client, partner, and IBM team

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Excellent communication and presentation skills that are engaging, compelling, and influential
- Knowledge in machine learning and artificial intellignence
- B.S. in M.I.S., Business/Communications with a STEM minor, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering or experience in Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering.
- Understanding and experience with at least one programming language, design tools, or Quantum Computing (e.g. Python, Java, C/C++)
- Familiar with open architectural design including Kubernetes and Container design, database’s structure and data fabric, and integrating using API’s and scripting

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Problem-solving skills with attention to detail, precision, and time management
- Strong collaboration and communication skills as you work across the client, partner, and IBM team
- Demonstrate a natural bias towards self-motivation, curiosity, and initiative in addition to navigating data and people to find answers and present solutions
