**Spark Candles** is a Toronto-based candle design studio and custom candle manufacturer that provides high-quality, bespoke candles for homes, businesses, and corporate events. Our eco-friendly products are clean-burning and hand-poured using naturally derived waxes, with no paraffin, phthalates, parabens, or additives.

Our chandlers -- or candle makers -- collaborate with clients from around the world to create brand-inspired candle collections from our Trinity Bellwoods full-service design studio in downtown Toronto.

Spark Candles is excited to add a **Chandler/Production Associate** to our production team to support our continued growth



**Job Overview**

Reporting to the Production Manager, our Chandler/Production Associate will be responsible for multiple stages of the candle production process in our downtown design studio. They will work in tandem with our production team, supporting the preparation, production and fulfillment of high-quality custom candle collections for our clients.



**Responsibilities**:

- Receive, log and sort incoming materials and update inventory records.
- Follow guidance provided from the Production Manager, adhere to production schedules, and follow details provided in order summaries.
- Coordinate pre-production activities, including gathering required project materials, unpacking and placing candle vessels, then wicking.
- Hand-pour candles adhering to strict quality control and inspection standards.
- Complete all product labeling and packaging activities, including the primary and safety labels, product boxes, and shipping materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production facility while adhering to company health and safety policies.



**Required Experience/Qualifications**
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a light manufacturing role is preferred; in a creative trade such as artisan goods, candles, cakes or ceramics is highly desirable
- Creative artisan with an eye for design
- Excellent eye/hand coordination
- Comprehensive knowledge of wax properties and familiarity with fragrances and olfactory groups is highly desirable
- Basic analytical and mathematical skills to support the preparation of candle collections in the correct quantities, including all labeling, packaging, and accessories.
- Responsive, solutions-oriented focus on quality, continuity and consistency
- Strong organizational and time management skills, detail-oriented, able to prioritize and multi-task
- Disciplined self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and conflict-resolution skills
- Excellent English communication skills (written/verbal)



**Physical Working Conditions**
- High fragrance design studio environment
- Prolonged periods of standing/walking, and working down the production line
- Ability to regularly lift/move boxes up to 50 lbs



**Hours of Work**
- Part-time between Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Hours of work are project-driven and may occasionally require overtime to meet client orders



**Compensation Range**
- $25 per hour
- Part-time role ranging from 20-40 hours per week
- This position may transition into a full-time position
