**Staff Software Engineer**

Extreme Networks is searching for
** Staff Software Engineer **in Toronto, Ontario - Canada.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's or graduate degree in computer science or engineering
- 6+ years of experience in software development and strong background in Linux networking
- Design, develop, and maintain networking software for Linux-based systems using C/C++ and Python
- Experience with network security and encryption, ability to troubleshoot and debug networking issues
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Extensive experience in wired and wireless networking protocols
- Strong understanding of Linux development and system-level programming
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization, bottleneck problems analysis
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub for version control and code management

**Considered a Plus**:

- Contribution to open source project(s)
- Hands-on experience with Network Packet processing stacks such as DPDK, FD.io/VPP, eBPF/XDP, IPSec
- Hands-on experience with Linux container technologies and Kubernetes
- Experience with agile development process, familiarity with Jira or similar tool
