**JOB SUMMARY**
The Accounting Manager will perform all duties associated accounting, GL reconciliation, month end close, receipt and payment of vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner. May provide guidance to other team members and work with mínimal supervision to support the sales, manufacturing, and administrative functions. Responsible for performing tasks associated with general accounting duties such as monitoring sales, billing, and invoice charges. Interfaces with supervision and line employees to ensure accounting functions are performed efficiently within quality specifications.
**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Reviews and verifies all vendor invoices against purchase orders and receive documentation for accuracy and completeness, enters invoices into system for payment.
- Processes all check requests ensuring all appropriate documentation and approvals have been received.
- Competency with general ledger accounting and financial reporting software systems.
- Coordinate and collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders.
- Reconciles appropriate accounting reports.
- Maintains vendor statements and files.
- Processes employee expense reports and verifies appropriate approvals.
- Performs problem-solving tasks regarding Purchase Orders and Invoices.
- Relieves Other accounting and administration staff for breaks and absences.
- Maintain a level of housekeeping that complies with company standards.
- Ensuring financial transactions are in accordance with GAAP, regulatory guidelines, and program requirements.
- Must be team oriented - a team player, willing to work for the good of the total team.
- Oral Communication - Ability to express information and ideas to individuals as well as groups; must be able to communicate in a professional manner to both employees and supervisors. Must be able to carry out detailed written and oral communications without bias.
- Assist with plant record keeping functions.
- Any and all other duties assigned by the Controller / VP of Finance
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA, preferred.
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience
- Experienced user of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Accountability - Able to follow instruction and report back as necessary to supervision.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Flexibility & Adaptability - Learn about new products, manufacturing techniques and policies.
- Oral and Written Communication - Ability to speak, read and write English - Primary communication language. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Setting and Achieving Goals - Self Starter.
- Detail Orientation - Strives to do well and continuously attempts to consistently meet set standards in manufacturing, area cleanliness and overall department success.
