The responsibilities of the Commercial Manager include:

- Direct and co-ordinate the activities of a site technical office program workloads and advise on commercial strategy for successful project execution;
- Manage commercial and project control matters of major projects including change management, procurement, prime contract management, cost control, earned value management, scheduling and risk management;
- Develop and enforce commercial/project controls policies, processes and procedures;
- Provide commercial and contractual advice and reports to Executives and Project Managers;
- Lead all claims and change management with respect to clients and subcontractors;
- Lead, train and develop commercial/project controls staff;
- Manage the input of various bid phases including commercial review and risk analysis of contracts;
- Oversee the commercial management of designers and the design process.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred), Business or Law;
- Minimum of 15 years of experience working on large heavy civil projects;
- Experience working on large infrastructure projects is preferred;
- Experience representing companies in adjudication, mediation and commercial negotiations, negotiating contracts, claims management/dispute resolution;
- Experience developing and implementing strategies for risk and opportunity management;
- Sound understanding of contractual, commercial and financial functions on major projects;
- Knowledge of contract language, change management and legal requirements of contracts;
- Ability to liaise/co-ordinate internal and external legal counsel and experts;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office;
- Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills;
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines;
- Excellent people and leadership skills;
- Willingness to travel regularly and overnight;
- Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
