**Purpose**

Drive the implementation of the new BI framework and governance policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities**:
**Strategy: Support & Deliver**

**Governance**
- Maintain VGW reporting taxonomy, by updating and classifying as necessary
- Document report-related activities and lifecycles across VGW data teams
- Creates new reports and retrofits existing reports as part of the rollout strategy of BI related products to the new state
- Follow and promote the adoption of the governance framework for VGW's Data Catalog to ensure policies, standards and definitions are followed with peer Analysts across the organisation
- Become an advocate of Alation across the organisation & lead discussions
- Create & review supporting documentation (Articles & Wikis) that support the rollout and adoption of the new BI framework across the organisation

**Reporting**
- Deliver dashboard/ reporting solutions that meet user expectations and follow the new state framework & governance
- Review data sources & queries to determine if it is accurate or relevant for the development of VGW's Data Catalog and Business Data Dictionary
- Collaborate with the Data Management team to maintain and improve the performance of data sources used as part of BI products.
- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and reliable analytical products, dashboards, and metrics that drive VGW crucial business decisions
- Provide ad-hoc support on data collection, analysis and reporting

**Stakeholder Management and Team Collaboration**:

- Work under the direction of senior team members and escalates issues encountered after attempting to solve
- Collaborate with other data team members to resolve any questions that arise in relation to VGW's Data Catalog & BI's new processes and procedures.
- Summarise queries and concerns from external teams in relation to the rollout of BI's framework
- Can run requirement sessions with a product or data team to discuss relevant requirements and best solutions
- Can work autonomously on program components and ad-hoc analytics work, is capable of problem-solving issues that are encountered, however, understands to when to escalate blockers**.**:

- Builds and maintains positive relationships with stakeholders, and proactively identifies and addresses any issues or concerns they may have.
- Clearly articulates and communicates insights to stakeholders.

**Learning & Development**:

- Mentor and provide support to associates BI in best practices and technical optimisation
- Support the execution of L&D programs for BI-related tooling (Data Catalog & Tableau) and proficient SQL skills
- Work with direct reports to build comprehensive personal learning and development plans to deepen technical or social tracks and broaden skill sets on underdeveloped areas that will add value to VGW and enable career progression
- Encourage diverse opinions and problem-solving from a variety of sources that differ from your personal context and background
- Provide broad growth impact, through internal skill shares, public user groups, blog posts or similar.

**Qualifications, skills & experience**:

- A Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Engineering, Data Science or Artificial Intelligence.
- **2+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence or data insights**:

- Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to create and review queries.
- Business acumen
- Experience working with BI analysts, data analysts, and/or cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving skills to identify pain points and recurring concerns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
