**Position Summary**:
The Indigenous Trauma Response Support Worker is responsible for appropriate and adequate delivery of the Friendship Centre’s Trauma Response Services, in accordance with legislation, regulations, contractual commitments, Society policies and commonly accepted practice standards. The Sexual Assault Support Worker will provide trauma informed crisis intervention and Indigenous cultural lens with, immediate services, supports and resources to Indigenous community, in the Fraser Health Region. The worker supports the Program Manager in the planning, development and implementation of effective, efficient and culturally responsive services. The individual is responsible for upholding FRAFCA’s mission, vision, and values, and is highly collaborative and supporting staff to work to this end.

**Your Duties**:

- Offers one-on-one support to clients, with a goal of assisting 35 active client caseloads at a time;
- Performs outreach within community to offer program services to clients;
- Advocates for clients who are victims of Sexual assault, or domestic violence for the indigenous community, including women, youth, men and children;
- Understands the topics mentioned in the list below to properly support clients:

- Trauma informed practices and crisis intervention
- Crime Victim Assistance Program
- Criminal Justice System
- Victim Assistance Units
- Indigenous cultural lens and teachings
- Indigenous Canada coarse
- Safety planning
- Victims and survivors of sexual assaults and domestic violence
- Strangulation
- SANE examinations and forensic nurse units
- Provides trauma-informed lens for the indigenous community;
- Advocates, liaisons and coordinates services with multi-level community partners, including the Criminal Justice System, Police Municipal and Provincial governments;
- Connects clients to other community and FRAFCA programs and services to ensure holistic support;
- Supports case management and client record management;
- Participates in community networking, events and meetings to represent FRAFCA Trauma Response Team;
- Generates periodic statistical, narrative, and other reports as requests by the funder for the EVA project;
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- **Education and Experience**:_
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Social Work, Critical Race and/or Disabilities Studies, Adult Education, Gender Studies/Feminist Research, Law, Public Policy and Administration or one of the other behavioral sciences Or equivalent of education and experience in related fields.
- Previous experience providing advocacy and / or counselling to survivors of sexual, domestic and family violence, and other forms of trauma informed practices;
- Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing the duties.
- Maintain a clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector search.
- Must adhere to the organization’s health and wellness plan
