Foster Care Manager

The Manager supervises all CYW workers and intake coordinator and is responsible for all service, compliance, reporting and child and youth care services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Carries out all policies and procedures as they relate to the safety and well-being of children and youth in residence; in accordance with Child, Youth and Family Services Act
- Will update all policies and procedures in accordance with Child, Youth and Family Services Act
- Provides supervision and support to the Resource Worker Team
- Manages serious occurrences in the best interest of the child/ youth in care and in compliance with MCCSS and CAS Procedures
- Liaison and communicates with referring care partner agencies
- Oversight of foster parent and staff selection processes
- Assume overall responsibility for quality and accuracy of reports, logs, fire safety planning trainings and plans of cares
- Manage the review and renewal of internal policies and procedures on an ongoing basis
- Staff and foster parent performance reviews, goal setting and benchmarking in collaboration with Resource Worker
- Works in a safe manner in accordance with health and safety policies
- Accts in accordance with Code of Ethics, Confidentiality, Anti-Oppression/ Anti-Racism and other relevant policies

**Qualifications**:

- MSW educational requirement
- Social Work, Social Service Worker, Counselling Psychology, Psychology, Child and Youth Worker or equivalent
- Experience, confidence and skill in working with children/ youth
- Experience supervising a team and reporting progress of team to Director of Services
- Demonstrated knowledge of assessment, management and treatment of traumatized adolescents including crisis management, individual goal setting and group work
- Demonstrated clinical understanding of trauma informed and harm reduction practices and approaches
- Demonstrated clinical and written skills to comprehensively understand the writing of plan of cares, home studies
- Demonstrated knowledge of family dynamics
- A valid G or G2 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is required
- Ability to work a flexible shift pattern and accommodate service needs
- Patience, tolerance, and sensitivity
- Experience in crisis support and ability to mediate conflict
- Organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Dedication to team building
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities simultaneously with the ability to prioritize
- ASL is an asset
- Experience working with children on the spectrum is an asset
- Fluency in written and spoken English is necessary
- Any additional languages are an asset

**Salary**: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mississauga, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Mississauga, ON

Expected start date: 2023-04-01
