**Job Description**:
Reporting to Lifeco’s Global Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, the VP Sustainability and ESG Strategy will help deliver priority ESG initiatives across the company’s various divisions, businesses, and affiliates.

This role will provide a central hub, to ensure activities are well coordinated and tracked over multi-year project timelines to deliver against the company’s ambitious environmental, social and governance commitments, and ultimately disclose our results using industry best practice.

In this role, you will work closely with department peers in Global Investments, Finance, Strategy, Compliance, Governance, and those responsible for sustainability and social impact programs.

The ideal profile will have considerable experience in project management and reporting functions, with an appreciation for governance in a large, multi-operating company, publicly traded enterprise.

**What you will do**:

- Demonstrate a passion for contributing to Lifeco’s purpose and the company’s commitments to fight climate change and advance social equity.
- Contribute to a centre of excellence, relating to best-practice ESG activities, commitments, and reporting, as Lifeco’s ESG program evolves.
- Construct a multi-year vision for the program, advancing reporting and disclosure activities to meet best practice across operating regions.
- Lead a small team. Convene partners business-wide.
- Provide a central office and oversight to coordinate key working groups that embed and deliver ESG commitments in Lifeco’s various operating companies and affiliates.
- Support project planning and delivery through information and resource coordination, problem and impact analysis, solution proposals, and more.
- Collaborate on working group performance management, including establishing commitments, metrics, stage gates, and tracking.
- Ensure that ESG programs are well understood and well reported amongst company leadership and across operating companies, functions, and affiliates.
- Manage and maintain a regular reporting cycle for the company’s Management Committee and Board of Directors, including dashboard progress updates and review of formal ESG disclosures and reports.
- Create a modern system for ESG management and reporting - i.e. manage data and information gathering, audit, and disclosure processes, in close coordination with the company’s Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, External Financial Reporting and Legal functions; manage data and information reporting and disclosure in close coordination with the company’s Communications, Sustainability, and Investor Relations functions.
- Support ESG-related company communication to a range of stakeholders, including regulators, investors, colleagues, and policymakers.
- Play a lead role on Lifeco’s ESG Steering Committee, comprised of various company executives.
- Drive continuous improvement, introducing new strategies and techniques.

**What you will bring**:

- 10+ years of relevant experience in a large, complex enterprise organization
- Superior project management experience
- Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, ideally developed in a large organization
- Passion for sustainability and social impact.
- Financial, insurance, or investment experience will be an asset
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to convey and deliver strong presentations to company leadership, Senior Executives and Board member
