Thursday: 9am-3pm Flexible

Friday: 9am-3pm Flexible

Saturday: Day OFF

The position is responsible for:

- facilitating meaningful and enriching daytime activities for adults with developmental disabilities
- focusing primarily on building social connections and belonging in the community through partnerships and volunteer work, and by which persons served can be contributing members of the community
- foster community relationships by building on abilities of persons served

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate or Diploma in human services, a related discipline, or an related combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with or supporting people with behaviour challenges
- Clear Driver's Abstract, Criminal Record Check for Children and Vulnerable Adults clearance, Current CPR and First Aid Certification, Current TB Test, Immunization Record, Medical Fitness Note, own vehicle with $3 million liability business insurance, and **Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License (THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR THIS ROLE)**:

- Strong commitment to the philosophy and values of posAbilities
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with supported individuals,
- Behaviour management training or experience
- Ability to work with individuals with Autism and/or challenging behaviours,
- Ability to use and develop alternative language programs
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) with families and a range of health professionals
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Familiarity with community inclusion programs and developing activities
- Familiarity with epilepsy and seizure management
- Familiarity with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome or Effect (FAS/E)
- Knowledge of computers and word-processing programs
- Reliability, consistency and initiative, tact, good judgment and problem-solving
- Familiarity with the resources available in the area where the Program/Service is located

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $25.95 per hour
