**THE ROLE**: Product Owner

**THE LOCATION**:Calgary, AB

The Product Owner will be pivotal in shaping and driving the evolution of the entire Showpass product suite. With a deep understanding of the product capabilities and roadmap, this role will take ownership of specific components of Showpass’ product portfolio and will report to the Director of Product.

Acting as a primary liaison between the internal teams and the software development team, the Product Owner will ensure alignment and progress towards the strategic goals. Their responsibilities will include creating and managing the product backlog, defining user stories and acceptance criteria, and prioritizing them based on business value.

The Product Owner will also be responsible for effectively communicating the product vision and roadmap internally. This includes collaborating closely with various stakeholders and participating in Scrum ceremonies to ensure product development is on track and aligned with company objectives.

The Product Owner will be integral in driving continuous innovation and delivering products that cater to the needs of Showpass’ clients and end-users, solidifying Showpass’ position as a leader in the event technology industry.

**THE RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and maintain the product backlog, prioritizing tasks based on their business value and input from stakeholders
- Clearly define and communicate the product’s vision and objectives to both the development team and stakeholders
- Create comprehensive user stories and establish acceptance criteria to guide the development team in creating new features
- Serve as a bridge between the development team and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding
- Participate actively in scrum events, including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives
- Thoroughly review and approve completed user stories, ensuring they meet the predefined acceptance criteria
- Provide feedback and make informed decisions regarding product improvements and changes
- Collaborate with the product marketing team to devise effective strategies and activities for product launches, as well as monitor and report on product performance
- Maintain an understanding of the market including competitor products and industry trends to inform product development and continuously refine and reprioritize the product backlog based on changing business needs

**THE QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. An advanced degree is an asset
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in product management
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Certification such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar is an asset
- Proficiency with project management tools, such as JIRA
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and processes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and clearly convey product vision
- Great organizational and time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with strong problem-solving skills to make decisions under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to define, prioritize, and deliver best-in-class software product features
- Ability to create and manage a product backlog, and to define user stories and acceptance criteria
- Experience in data analysis and interpretation to make data-driven decisions
- Ability to work collaboratively with developers, designers, and other team members
