**Job Overview**:
Parachutes for Pets is looking for a versatile and motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Sales Associate at You Thrifty Animal, our pet store located in Kensington, and a Project Manager/Support Specialist at the Pet Advocacy Center. This role will focus on a combination of retail sales, inventory management, exceptional customer service, coordinating donation pickups and drop-offs, and providing administrative support as needed.
This part-time position offers the potential for growth into a full-time role.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate and execute donation pick-ups and drop-offs (must have a valid driver’s license, drivers abstract required)
- Liaise with partners and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Part Time Thrift Sales Associate
- Engage with customers to provide exceptional customer service
- Utilize product knowledge to assist customers in finding the right pet productions, while educating on Parachutes for Pets
- Accept donations
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly
- Events assistant when required
- Responsible for set up and tear down of booth and mobile thrift at events
- Engage with customers, education of Parachutes for Pets
- Administrative Assistant
- General administrative tasks including entering client data, reporting on sales
- Create monthly newsletters
- Tax receipts and mail out campaigns
- Social Media Assistant
- Content creation, posts and reels
- Monitor social media accounts
**Skills**:
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in retail, POS experience (Square), including cash handling and customer service
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Sheets, Docs and Forms
- Ability to learn new computer software quickly such as Time To Pet, Monday, Sales Force, Slack, Ticketing Platforms etc.
- Comfortable working around pets (cats and dogs)
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to wok in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing tasks
- Basic graphic design
- Basic website editing, including uploading content and images
- Knowledge of social media platforms, basic understanding of posts and reels.
- Event planning and coordination experience
- Able to supervise and manage volunteers
**Qualifications**:
- Event experience - 2 years, volunteer or paid
- Customer service experience - 3 years
- Social Media experience - 2 years
- Pet behavior experience (asset but not required)
- First Aid Certification (asset but not required)
- Valid Driver's License (drivers abstract required)
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Physically able to lift 50lbs
- No pet allergies
**Schedule**:
Mostly Day Shift
Wednesday - Sunday
Evenings when required
