**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**
We are seeking a Quality Control Chemist, who is available to work the night shift.
This role will be based out of our Eastside Facility in Etobicoke. The hours of work will be **3**:30 PM to 11:30 PM.**
**WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE**
- Conduct evaluation on raw materials incoming Primary and secondary packaging components as per Deciem Quality Standard Operating Procedures
- Conduct testing and release of incoming raw materials that includes testing for colour, odor, texture, pH, Viscosity, FTIR, and Titration
- Verifying and releasing of in-coming Primary and secondary packaging components. Cleaning, sanitization, calibration, and verification of Lab equipment. (E.g. pH Meter, viscometer, Scales, and Thermometer)
- Receiving, organizing, and storing of retain samples of raw material and packaging component. Oversee and support in retain sample management including sample tracking and filing internally and externally within the organization
- Work collaboratively with inventory department to ensure raw material and packaging component are tested accordingly to procedure. Liaise between Design, Regulatory and Quality Team
- Address all packaging components related questions from Deciem operations or third-party manufacturers
- Document activities and results according to quality standards and assist in customer compliant investigation through retain sample review
- Ensuring that all QC activities in the facility are appropriately carried out under cGMP, GLP, GDP guidelines
- Writing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for newly established process and methods. Report any noted deviation to management
- Initiate laboratory report as well as non-conformance investigation reporting. Initiate change control process for newly developed procedure, and instrumentation activation. Able to work in different shifts and weekends if requested
**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE**
- Post-secondary diploma or a degree in science.
- Minimum of 2 - 4 years' experience in quality control.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Motivation and ability to solve complex problems.
